For the past several years, Knology has provided access to out-of-area, duplicate channels as a value-added service to our customers. Knology feels our customers should not have to pay extra for these duplicate channels as the majority of the network programming is already provided on another channel in our line-up.
We have an agreement to continue to carry WIBW (CBS) and KTWU (PBS) out of Topeka but KSNT & KTKA have proposed a significant fee increase to continue carrying of their duplicated content which previously had no fees required for carriage. After careful consideration, Knology has notified these two stations we would not agree to the proposed rates.
As a result, KSNT & KTKA will no longer authorize us to distribute their channels as part of our lineup beginning 1/1/12. You will continue to have access to the NBC network programming on KSHB, Channel 14 and in HD on 214; ABC network programming will continue to be available on KMBC Channel 9 and in HD on 209.
We apologize for an inconvenience this may cause, and, as always, we thank you for your business and your loyalty to Knology.
Sincerely,
Rod Kutemeier
